About us
United Wellness
The United Wellness Project is an Erasmus+ funded project, developed by Resident Doctors Association- RDA. The idea behind the project stems from the objective need for improving general health practices and habits amongst young people from the Republic of North Macedonia. Rising obesity rates, especially in the younger population, and the incidence of cardiovascular events seen in the older population, make wellness promotion and increasing health literacy amongst Macedonians all across the board to be one of the main priorities and emergencies of the healthcare system.
The general idea of the United Wellness Project (UWP) is to outline the situation regarding three aspects of wellness – nutrition, sleep, and physical activity, among young people in our country.
More specifically, the end-goals of the UWP are:
- Obtaining clearer understanding of the knowledge and importance of wellness amongst young people in North Macedonia.
- Affecting public policy, implementing and adopting regulations to allow healthy lifestyle choices among high school students and young adults.
- Teach people with food intolerances how to create easy and affordable meal plans suiting their health condition.
- To provide healthy recipes that are fun and easy to make.
- To offer fitness training videos that require no equipment or previous knowledge, and can be done at home.
