Workshop – The importance of sleep and sleep habits

In this workshop, we were educated about the importance of sleep and how to build quality and healthy sleeping habits. Sleep is an especially important part of overall human health and well-being, and the quality of sleep is especially important for young people. The quality of sleep is of particular importance for physical and mental health, and it also helps to improve memory, learning, and cognitive functions. We discussed, exchanged opinions, and were unanimous in the conclusion that a night of good sleep is half health. We thank the participants for their interest and participation.

Working visit to Zagreb in cooperation with the Croatian Association of Nutritionists

Within the “United Wellness Project” framework, the Association of Specialist Doctors, in cooperation with the Croatian Association of Nutritionists, made a working visit to Zagreb. During it, a meeting was held with the Croatian Association of Nutritionists’ representatives, where nutrition in Croatia and Macedonia student dormitories was discussed. Part of the agenda of this meeting also included a discussion regarding the research conducted by the Association of Trainee Doctors as part of the project, in which, through the sharing of the questionnaire, young people in Croatia, as well as in other European countries, were included. At the end of the meeting, it was discussed about changing the rules for nutrition in student and school dormitories in our country and how it could be implemented.

The representatives of the association also held a workshop on healthy lifestyles for the students, with whom they also discussed the diet in the student dormitories (by showing photos of it) in Macedonia and Croatia. This workshop resulted in a fruitful discussion, sharing of personal stories, and suggestions on what can be improved in terms of nutrition in our country’s student dormitories. We hope that this discussion and proposals will bear fruit and generate changes regarding this issue. Many thanks to the Croatian Association of Nutritionists for their help in realizing this event.
